Back when I was a student at Laurier University, I was itching for a creative outlet. I decided to start a satire news site, like The Onion, focused on NHL stories. It was fun, until one of my stories caught wind and generated over 300k+ clicks in 48 hours. I was issued a cease & desist by one current NHL player. Isn’t satire protected under Canadian law? I didn’t have the resources to find out.
